Reverend Richard 'John'TONKINTONKIN Reverend Richard 'John' Former vicar of Holy Trinity Church, Hinckley, St. Peter's Church, Oadby and Holy Apostles Church, Leicester.

Passed away peacefully on Saturday 18th July 2026, aged 97 years.

Dearest husband to the late Margaret, cherished father to Ruth, Elizabeth and Andrew and a much-loved grandfather & great-grandfather.

The committal will take place at Great Glen Crematorium on Friday 14th August at 11.30am followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at The Church of the Martyrs, Westcotes Drive, Leicester at 1.00pm.

Family flowers only please.

Sending deepest condolences to all the family. Reverend John Tonkin married myself and husband Nick in 1990 at Holy Apostles. A beautiful service from a lovely man I still to this day have the picture of the Hand Glider and remember word for word regarding the picture.
